Our Story

25 Years of Experience. A Personal Commitment to Every Project.

We don't believe great renovations begin with demolition — they begin with a conversation.

Imperial Design & Build was founded on Dominick's passion for craftsmanship and more than 25 years of hands-on experience in construction and remodeling.

Unlike companies where the person you meet disappears once the contract is signed, Dominick remains personally involved from the first conversation to the finishing touches. He's on-site daily, working alongside his crew, overseeing the details, and ensuring every project reflects the quality and care Imperial stands for.

Whether transforming a kitchen, reimagining a bathroom, or creating something custom, our approach is simple: personal attention, honest communication, and craftsmanship you can trust.

Our Philosophy

We don't simply build what is requested. We help homeowners discover what's possible.

Every project is an opportunity to improve the way a home functions, feels, and brings people together. That's why we spend time understanding not only what our clients want their home to look like — but how they want it to live.

Our goal is to create spaces that feel intentional. From the placement of lighting and cabinetry to tile layouts, material selections, architectural details, and custom finishes, every decision is made with purpose.

When every detail works together, the result is more than a renovation. It becomes a home that feels completely transformed.

Our Process

Discover. Design. Build.

Three intentional phases that turn a first conversation into a home you're proud to call your own.

01

Discover

Every successful project begins with listening. We take time to understand your ideas, lifestyle, priorities, and investment goals so we can create solutions that improve both function and beauty.

02

Design

This is where ideas become reality. Together we walk through layouts, materials, finishes, colors, textures, and lighting — helping you clearly visualize the finished space before construction begins.

03

Build

Once the vision is set, we bring it to life through quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and meticulous attention to detail. Quality isn't created by chance — it's built through consistency and care.

Project Journal

Stories behind the grain.

Every project has a challenge, a design decision, and a moment of transformation. Here are a few of the stories we're proud of.

Custom Entertainment Wall
Media Wall · Davis Lake, Charlotte NC

Custom Entertainment Wall

The Challenge

As a busy mom on the go, the homeowner wanted more than just a place to mount a television. She envisioned a space where the entire family could gather, relax, work, and entertain without sacrificing style. The existing builder-grade wall provided a blank canvas, allowing us to create a custom feature that reflected her vision while bringing warmth, functionality, and purpose to the heart of the home.

The Solution

Floor-to-ceiling built-in entertainment wall with integrated linear fireplace, backlit display niches, a concealed television, and a custom paneled accent wall — paired with matching desk millwork on the adjacent wall.

Construction Highlights
  • Integrated linear electric fireplace
  • Warm-lit display niches flanking the television
  • Custom geometric paneled accent wall
  • Matching built-in desk and workstation cabinetry
Covered Patio & Pergola Addition
Outdoor Living · Concord, NC

Covered Patio & Pergola Addition

The Challenge

After long days spent pouring into others, these homeowners wanted a space where they could slow down and enjoy time at home. Starting with a builder-grade patio, they envisioned an inviting outdoor retreat designed for entertaining, relaxing, and creating lasting memories with family and friends. They also wanted a dedicated gathering space that would become the go-to spot for football season and weekend get-togethers.

The Solution

A fully covered patio addition with a stained tongue-and-groove cedar ceiling, dark-stained structural posts, and an attached slatted pergola that extends the living space into the backyard year-round.

Construction Highlights
  • Stained cedar tongue-and-groove ceiling
  • Attached pergola with slatted privacy screen
  • Mounted outdoor television and speaker prewire
  • Poured concrete patio with clean expansion joints
